The MaGic of the Santa Ckaus Village, Finland.

Take a moment and imagine you are a child again. Christmas is coming and with it the magic and mystery of Santa Claus. How many of us, as youngsters, wished and dreamed that we could truly visit the North Pole and see the wonderland of Santa’s workshop, complete with snow, toys, elves and reindeer – and even meet the jolly man in red himself?
Childhood dreams really do become true when you visit Lapland and take a tour of the Santa Claus Village…

Located in Finland’s Rovaniemi region, the Santa Claus Village has something magical for everyone. Visitors young and old will be enthralled by all the attractions this magical place has to offer. There may be other “Santa Villages” elsewhere in the world – but here, and here alone, is the real thing!

The Santa Claus Village is located just eight kilometres from Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. Rovaniemi is a fabulous tourist hub due to its unspoilt nature and wonderful recreational facilities. Lapland is the true and traditional home of Santa Claus, also known as Father Christmas. A convenient bus route from Rovaniemi will deliver you straight to the Santa Claus Village doorstep.

Amongst the many wonderful things this Village has to offer are:

Arctic Circle: The Arctic Circle cuts its way through the Santa Claus Village. A white painted line across the park denotes where visitors officially enter the Arctic when they cross the line, and it is a popular spot for photographs.

Santa Claus Post Office: All mail posted from here is postmarked with a unique and special postmark. You can even specify that mail posted here be held over for delivery the following Christmas – even if it is almost a year away. The Santa Claus Post Office also sells a variety of Christmas-themed items

Santa Park: Santa’s underground cavern home is the place where you can immerse yourself in a range of activities: meet some elves, see Santa’s workshop, take a sleigh ride, visit the gingerbread kitchen, or attend the elf school. Littlies can play in the Angry Birds activity area, while older children and adults can participate a lesson at Santa’s Calligraphy School. There is also the Ice Gallery, the Magical Story Train, and so much more. Add cafes, and shopping options; you will never want to leave this magical wonderland experience.

Santa Claus’ Office: Inside the Village’s main building, visitors can (at certain times when he is not too busy preparing for Christmas on a global scale) meet Santa Claus in person. Have your photo taken with the most magical of public figures and enjoy a little chat with him. This is a unique, once in a lifetime experience not to be missed.
